Many thanks for the great interest and many questions from the audience today.

I very much enjoyed that.

My PPT: ECIIA 2019_WRAPS_Dr. Rainer Lenz

Thank you for the opportunity to speak at the 2019 conference of the IIA Slovenia

31 May

Dear Polona Pergar Guzaj (President of the IIA Slovenia) & the organizing team, dear participants,

it was so nice meeting you in person in Ljubljana. Everything was perfectly organized. The audience was amazing with about 200 members of the IIA Slovenia and participants from neighboring countries. First class.

Thank you for inviting me as guest speaker at your annual conference 2019. It was a great pleasure contributing to the success of your event. Please find attached my presentation in PDF-format: 20190531-IIA Slovenia-Rainer Lenz. I am keen on learning more about the vote of the audience regarding the perceived significance of each component of W-R-A-P-S, a model to improve decision making (in internal auditing).

Glad we stay connected.

Best wishes

SUCCESs – Simple, Unexpected, Concrete, Credible, Emotional, and Stories

SUCCESs – Simple, Unexpected, Concrete, Credible, Emotional, and Stories

CS 7 – 1 – Dr. Rainer Lenz, Head Internal Audit Villeroy & Boch

September 22, 2017, 10:45 – 11:15

Inspired by the bestseller “Made to Stick: Why some Ideas Survive and Others Die” (Heath and Heath, 2008), Dr. Rainer Lenz will apply the SUCCESs model of sticky ideas to the world of internal auditing.

A sticky idea is understood, it is remembererd, and it changes something:

  • Are internal auditors, are you understood?
  • Are you remembered? If so, what for?
  • Are you agent/s of change?
  • What are favorable conditions to succeed?
  • What is in your hand?

Along the acronym SUCCESs, Dr. Rainer Lenz will share his perspective on how effective internal audit looks like. His perspective is based on over 20 years of senior management experience and his dive into the world of academia in parallel to his full time job, performing empirical research about internal audit, too.

Guest speaker – Hamburg – 7th June 2013

24 May

I will be giving a presentation on “Insights into the effectiveness of internal audit”, the topic of my recent PhD dissertation, and will be moderating a workshop with the members of the German IIA working group “Mittelstand” (German mid-sized companies). About 100 Heads of Internal Audit are on the attendees list.

This presentation will be in German: “Wie kann ich als Leiter/in die Wirksamkeit meiner Internen Revision erhöhen?”
