Bring academic research to practitioners

31 May

I enjoy the recognition of my peers acknowledged in the accolade to be among Top 3 nominations for the Audit Innovation Award 2013 (http://www.audit-challenge.com), especially as the 50 members of the award jury are all Audit, Risk and Governance leaders. It is nice that my fresh PhD dissertation from February 2013 not only meets the required academic standards but is of significant interest and value to practitioners, too. Thus, my research contributes to bring the two worlds together, so bring academic research to practitioners, and is regarded in parts as research you can use. Being critical towards the status quo in Internal Audit, the results may well be used to improve practice.

Guest speaker – Hamburg – 7th June 2013

24 May

I will be giving a presentation on “Insights into the effectiveness of internal audit”, the topic of my recent PhD dissertation, and will be moderating a workshop with the members of the German IIA working group “Mittelstand” (German mid-sized companies). About 100 Heads of Internal Audit are on the attendees list.

This presentation will be in German: “Wie kann ich als Leiter/in die Wirksamkeit meiner Internen Revision erhöhen?”
